have expressed their disagreement with Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, a renowned Islamic scholar. Gumi had criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
In their individual responses, these groups of distinguished Nigerians have called on Gumi to leverage his influence to garner support for Tinubu and Wike so that they can effectively implement their well-conceived policies and programs, ultimately propelling Nigeria forward.
The NCPF has criticized the religious and ethnic undertones used by individuals it referred to as “misguided elements and their sponsors” in an attempt to sow discord and disunity in the country.
They emphasize that such actions do not represent the collective views and interests of the North or the nation as a whole.
According to a statement issued by their spokesperson, Alhaji Mohammed Abba Liman, Gumi’s criticism was unwarranted, malicious, provocative, and involved a deliberate misinterpretation of historical events.
It’s important to note that Sheikh Ahmed Gumi’s criticism of Nyesom Wike was related to Wike receiving the Israeli ambassador amid the Israeli-Hamas conflict.
