Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda made this announcement after a closed-door meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The decision was primarily influenced by the lack of positive outcomes from previous negotiations with these criminal elements.

Governor Radda emphasized that while the government has adopted both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to address security challenges, it intends to exert significant pressure on the bandits until they voluntarily express a readiness for negotiation.

The government is not inclined to initiate negotiations with the bandits while they maintain their current advantage. Instead, they prefer to engage in talks with the bandits when increased pressure forces them to come forward and express their willingness to negotiate.
