It was reported that during an APC campaign rally in Twon Brass, Maciver urged APC supporters to chase opposition party supporters into the sea until they perish in the forthcoming November 11th governorship election.

In response to Maciver’s remarks, Ikurite remarked, “Our group has consistently upheld the values of peace, unity, and fraternity among our members, actively contributing to Bayelsa State’s development and progress.

However, recent incidents of political violence have shaken our confidence and created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.”

“We firmly denounce any form of violence, intimidation, and hate speech in the lead-up to the November 11, 2023, governorship election.

We also call upon law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the recent violence in Nembe community and bring the perpetrators to justice. Justice must prevail to prevent the recurrence of such incidents and hold those resorting to violence accountable for their actions.”
