The Senate has also called upon the executive branch to address the crisis by advocating for the establishment of separate states for Israel and Palestine.

This call to action was made during a session in response to a motion presented by Senator Suleiman Kawu Sumaila of Kano South and co-sponsored by 28 other senators.

Senator Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, who introduced the motion, expressed deep concern about the alarming casualty figures in the ongoing war.

He warned that if the conflict is not resolved promptly, it could escalate into a global conflict, potentially leading to World War III.

He cited United Nations data, stating that the war, which began in October with a Hamas attack on Israeli territory, has resulted in the destruction of 18 places of worship, damage to 22,600 residential units, destruction of 19 medical centers, 90 educational facilities, 70 industrial facilities, and 49 media offices.

Despite renewed efforts to negotiate a peace settlement between Israel and the Palestinians, Senator Aliero lamented that these talks have failed to achieve the desired outcomes.
