Justice Olukayode Ariwoola is scheduled for Monday, November 27, 2023, in the main Courtroom of the Supreme Court. This event is part of the activities planned for the 2023/2024 legal year of the Court.

In adherence to the longstanding tradition, the CJN will deliver a state-of-the-Judiciary address during a special court session, providing insights into the performance of the Supreme Court and the Nigerian Judiciary in the 2022/2023 legal year.

Dr. Akande Festus, the Director of Press and Information of the Apex Court, announced this in a press statement issued on Sunday in Abuja.

He mentioned that key figures in the Justice Sector, including the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

the Chairman of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN), and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), will deliver speeches on the state of the justice sector at the ceremony.

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) received 114 applications for the Senior Advocate of Nigeria rank in 2023, with 101 from advocates and 13 from academics.

After rigorous screening, filtration exercises, and various evaluations, 58 successful candidates were approved, including 57 advocates and one academic.

While the Supreme Court has been in session since September 18, 2023, the formal commencement of the new legal year, including the swearing-in ceremony, is scheduled for 10 am in the main Courtroom of the Supreme Court.
