Kogi Election Tribunal Takes A Pause As SDP Requests More Time For Material Inspection

In order to accommodate the extended material inspection, Justice Ado Birnin-Kudu, the tribunal chairman, adjourned the hearing.
The tribunal had instructed INEC to furnish the SDP with verified copies of electoral materials from the state’s off-cycle poll on November 11 within a 48-hour timeframe.
Additionally, the tribunal directed INEC to allow SDP’s forensic specialists to examine specific election-related materials.
These materials encompassed result sheets for Adavi, Okene, Okehi, Ogori-Magongo, Ajaokuta, Lokoja, Kogi, and Bassa Local Government Areas, as well as the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.
While challenging the election victory of the All Progressives Congress, the SDP sought information to substantiate its case, and the tribunal granted this request on Saturday.
