The much-anticipated judgment is scheduled to be delivered by the apex court this morning, heightening tensions in the air. DSS personnel have taken strategic positions, blocking access to the court and the Villa gate, redirecting litigants, and deterring sympathizers of the self-proclaimed IPOB leader.

Even accredited journalists, equipped with official tags from the Supreme Court, were initially denied entry, facing the roadblock created by the security personnel. Only after the intervention of high-ranking court officials were journalists begrudgingly allowed access.

The main entrance to the courtroom itself was obstructed by an unmarked security vehicle, with journalists subjected to thorough frisking before gaining entry. As of this report, the eagerly awaited decision of the court, led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, is imminent.

The Supreme Court had earlier slated today, December 15, for the judgment on the appeal seeking the release of Nnamdi Kanu from detention, setting the stage for a crucial legal battle. The five-member panel, presided over by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, approved the matter for judgment after concluding the adoption of final briefs of argument by counsels for both parties on October 5.
