Public Administrator Erinsakin Seun Victor has expressed admiration for Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki’s commendable efforts in obtaining accreditation for Higher National Diploma (HND) programs at the state-owned Polytechnic in Usen, Edo State. Erinsakin attributes the success to the transformative leadership of Governor Obaseki, which has led to the accreditation of numerous National Diploma (ND) and HND programs within the institution.
stating, “I would like to appreciate the government of Edo State under the leadership of His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State, for his transformative leadership that has led to the accreditation of several National Diploma and Higher National Diploma Programmes of the Polytechnic.” He noted that students from these accredited programs are now successfully being mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), with 15 programs accredited in the Polytechnic in the year 2023 alone.
The public administrator lauded the ongoing support from Governor Obaseki, emphasizing its significant contribution to the successful academic experiences of Polytechnic students. He highlighted Governor Obaseki’s broader vision, including the “Edo Best” policy, facilitated by the Honourable Commissioner of Education, Dr. Joan Osa Oviawe, which has positively transformed the state’s education system.
Erinsakin stressed that beyond program accreditation, Governor Obaseki’s vision also encompasses international collaboration, citing the recently signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a prestigious Polytechnic in China. This partnership is expected to foster cross-cultural knowledge exchange, student programs, and access to cutting-edge technology and expertise. According to Erinsakin, this collaboration positions Edo State Polytechnic as a hub of academic excellence not only nationally but also on the international stage.
In addition to praising Governor Obaseki, Erinsakin commended the Polytechnic’s management, led by Engr. Omoruyi Sylvester, for their remarkable progress and transformation efforts within the state-owned institution.
