In an interview on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun, Mr. Anthony Uga, the Ogun Sector Commander of FRSC, highlighted the necessity for motorists to comply with speed limits following two separate crashes on Monday and Tuesday, resulting in four fatalities. He attributed the cause of both incidents to speeding.

Uga reiterated the FRSC’s consistent efforts to educate motorists on driving within stipulated speed limits and cautioned against taking advantage of the road’s smooth condition to exceed those limits. He expressed concern about some drivers using mechanically deficient vehicles during the Yuletide season.

Despite the presence of FRSC operatives to guide motorists, Uga noted that some individuals were not heeding the advice provided. He urged motorists to install speed-limiting devices in their vehicles as a measure to prevent road crashes.

The FRSC’s emphasis on responsible driving and the installation of speed-limiting devices underscores the commitment to enhancing road safety on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway during the festive period.
