During her visit, Mrs Tinubu took the opportunity to share valuable advice with expectant mothers. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing health, getting tested for HIV/AIDS, and practicing necessary measures to prevent mother-to-child transmission of the disease.

In her words, “I urge nursing mothers to take adequate care of their babies, ensure that they are immunized as and when due, practice exclusive breastfeeding, and provide them with adequate nutritious and healthy weaning food for their brain development.”

Mrs Tinubu further highlighted the significance of antenatal and postnatal care, basic home hygiene, birth registration, and timely enrollment of children in school. She also announced that her foundation, Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), is collaborating with UNICEF to ensure the registration of all births in Nigeria, advocating for the rights and protection of every child.

Additionally, Mrs Tinubu pledged support through RHI for the surgical separation of the conjoined twins. The Chief Medical Director, Professor Mohammed Mahmood, expressed gratitude for the First Lady’s visit and appealed for more assistance to sustain the hospital’s legacy.
