SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command’s spokesperson, revealed in a statement on January 3, 2024, that the quack doctor, Chidera Ugwu, had administered injections and drugs to Amina Balarabe, intending to induce a miscarriage.

Investigations exposed Chidera Ugwu’s history of administering fatal injections to pregnant women. The incident came to light when Nura Balarabe reported that Ukasha Muhammed, in collaboration with Chidera Ugwu, had orchestrated the administration of substances to Amina Balarabe, leading to her tragic demise.

The suspects, having confessed to the crime, were promptly arrested. Chidera Ugwu’s alleged pattern of administering fatal injections to pregnant women added a concerning dimension to the case.

The statement outlined the commitment of the Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, to thorough investigations. The arrests were seen as a significant breakthrough in efforts to protect the lives and well-being of residents in the state.
