In a statement by his senior special adviser, Boniface Onyedi, Fubara expressed gratitude to the veterans and members of the Nigerian Legion for their invaluable services and ongoing support to both active soldiers and fellow veterans.
While acknowledging that the war on terror and banditry persists, Fubara highlighted the daily strides made by the armed forces on the battlefield. He commended President Bola Tinubu for his determined approach in addressing economic and security challenges, with the goal of ending the activities of groups like Boko Haram and other internal security threats.
Governor Fubara assured continued support from his administration to the military, emphasizing the importance of enabling them to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities to Rivers State and the nation. Charles T. Hart, the chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Nigerian Legion, expressed appreciation for the governor’s exceptional support, including the release of pledged funds and employment opportunities for the children of fallen heroes in the civil service of Rivers State.
