Trump asserted that those allowed into the country by President Joe Biden should not get comfortable, as they will face deportation. He accused Biden of aiding millions of illegal migrants and alleged that the current administration is hindering the efforts of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas to curb the influx of illegal immigrants.

Highlighting what he deemed a national security, public safety, and public health catastrophe, Trump endorsed Texas’s invocation of the Invasion Clause of the Constitution and urged full support to repel the perceived invasion.

The former president’s statement emphasized a collaborative approach with Governor Abbott, aiming to stop the influx of illegal immigrants and secure the border. Trump nostalgically recalled his own presidency, claiming they had the most secure border in history during his tenure.

“We encourage all willing states to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of illegals, and to remove them back across the border,” Trump’s statement urged, framing the issue as a shared responsibility among states.

Trump’s stance on immigration during his presidency was marked by policies such as a travel ban on citizens from certain Muslim-majority countries, diverting military funding for a U.S.–Mexico border wall, and implementing family separations for detained migrants. His statement indicates a continuation of his hardline approach to immigration, promising a robust response to what he perceives as a lax border security strategy under the Biden administration.
