Tinubu encouraged Jose Peseiro’s squad to aim high and excel in the AFCON finals.
In a message shared via his official X account following the match, Tinubu remarked, “From the Southernmost cape of Africa to the Plains of Mauritania and the coast of West Africa… You have made us all Proud to be Nigerians! Go… Soar in the AFCON Finals. Well done, boys!”
As a reminder, the Super Eagles secured a place in the final after defeating South Africa in a penalty shootout during their semi-final encounter on Wednesday.
Following 90 minutes of regulation time and an additional 30 minutes of extra time, the game concluded with a 1-1 scoreline.
Nigeria will now await the winner between host nation Ivory Coast and DR Congo in Sunday’s final showdown.
