The tribute night was held to honor the late Wigwe, his wife, and their first son who tragically died in a helicopter crash heading to California in early February.

Attended by several high-profile Nigerians, including Vice President Shettima, former CBN Governor Sanusi, AIG Seyi Tinubu, and Governor Sanwo-Olu, the event gathered to pay respects to the departed.

A moral critic on X publicly criticized Herbert Wigwe’s eldest daughter, Tochi Wigwe, for remaining seated while greeting Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The X user shared a photo capturing Tochi Wigwe seated while exchanging a handshake with Shettima during the funeral event. They contrasted this with images of former VP Yemi Osinbajo and businessman Aliko Dangote, who were standing while greeting Shettima.

Expressing his disapproval, he commented: “Same Man, different regard. Whoever that girl is, she lacks proper home training. You don’t shake a person old enough to be your father while seated down.”

Reacting to the trending post, Aisha Yesufu stated, “She lost her parents and older brother, yet all some heartless people are thinking about is that she did not stand to greet someone? What kind of people are these?”
