Troops from Sector 4 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Kabalewa, Niger Republic, successfully intercepted a cache of high-caliber arms with long-range destructive capabilities. The arms were being trafficked for terrorists and were discovered in a Toyota V8 Sequoia vehicle traveling southwest from Nigeria.
The vehicle, operated by three individuals identified as gunrunners, revealed a hidden compartment with a cache of arms, including 4 Rocket Propelled Guns 7, one AK-47 rifle with a magazine.
The preliminary analysis suggests that these arms originated from the notorious Boko Haram terrorist group. This interception highlights the commitment of MNJTF in maintaining regional security and combating illegal arms trade. The information was provided by the MNJTF’s Spokesman, Lt. Col Abdullahi Abubakar, on 11/03/2024 at 8:10 PM.
