Additionally, Burna Boy’s collaboration with 21 Savage on ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ was surpassed by Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Cobra’ in the Outstanding Hip-hop/Rap Song category. In the Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary) category, his track lost to ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay.
Furthermore, his album ‘I Told Them…’ failed to secure the Outstanding Album of the Year award, which was claimed by ‘Jaguar II’ by Victoria Monét.
This disappointing outcome adds to Burna Boy’s streak of losses, following his previous unsuccessful nominations at the 2023 BET Hip-hop Awards, 2024 Grammys, and 2024 Brit Awards.
On a brighter note, ‘Sensational’ by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, which previously won the Best Duo/Group Collaboration (Contemporary) award, clinched the Outstanding Visual Album/Song accolade on the second night of the 55th Image Awards.
