Nigerian comedian and actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has opened up about his frightening experience after being hit by a stray bullet while leaving a brand activation event on March 9, 2026.

The skit maker recounted the incident in a video shared on his YouTube channel, explaining that he and his team were leaving the venue after completing their engagement when he suddenly heard a loud bang.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Shaggi said he initially did not realise what had happened until he touched his hip and discovered that he was bleeding. He subsequently lost consciousness before arriving at the hospital.

The entertainer described the experience as terrifying, saying his primary concern at the time was surviving the incident. He revealed that his condition deteriorated, prompting medical personnel to arrange for him to be taken to another hospital for further treatment.

According to Shaggi, the medical team at the second facility responded swiftly and transferred him to the emergency room. He said their prompt intervention helped reassure him that he could survive the ordeal.

The actor explained that the seriousness of his injury became apparent when he discovered that he could no longer move his leg. The development left him worried about how the injury might affect his career, particularly the energetic physical performances associated with his popular comedy character.

Shaggi recalled that, although the immediate pain had reduced by the following morning, he began experiencing the emotional impact of what had happened and questioned why he had been caught up in such a frightening situation.

He said he later tried to find a positive meaning in the experience, reflecting on his demanding work schedule and revealing that he had barely taken time to rest since 2018.

The comedian also disclosed that he travelled to Dubai for surgery, which helped him regain the ability to walk and stand on his feet.

Despite the progress, Shaggi said he had not fully recovered and still relies on crutches for support. He explained that there was a period when he could neither move properly nor place both feet on the ground without assistance, but his condition has since improved.

Expressing gratitude for surviving the incident, the entertainer said he remained thankful that the outcome was not worse. He acknowledged that the experience had introduced a new reality into his life but expressed hope as he continues his recovery.

His account has offered fans a closer look at the physical and emotional challenges he has faced since the incident, as he gradually works towards regaining his full mobility.
