Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s track and field record-holder, secured her third gold medal on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Her first gold medal was earned at the All-African Games in Brazzaville, Congo, back in 2015. Subsequently, in 2019, she clinched another gold at the event held in Rabat, Morocco.

With Tobi Amusan’s latest triumph in Accra, Nigeria’s gold medal count at the 2024 All-African Games reaches 31.

As of Wednesday morning, March 20, Nigeria has amassed a total of 85 medals, including 22 silver and 32 bronze.

Nigeria currently holds the second position in the medal standings at the 2024 All-African Games, trailing behind Egypt.

Egypt leads with a total of 165 medals, comprising 92 gold, 40 silver, and 33 bronze.

Other countries like South Africa, Algeria, and Tunisia are closely competing with Team Nigeria for the second position.

Meanwhile, the host country, Ghana, ranks sixth, followed by Mauritius, Eritrea, Morocco, and Ethiopia, completing the top 10 in the 2024 All-African Games medal table.
