I Am Not A Paedophile: Baba Ijesha Repeats Innocence Claims Over Conviction

Published

Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has again spoken about the child sexual abuse case that led to his imprisonment, insisting that he was falsely accused and maintaining that he is not a paedophile.

The actor made the remarks during an interview with Agbaletu Uncensored, where he claimed that he only learnt the meaning of the term “paedophile” while serving time in prison.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Baba Ijesha rejected the allegations against him and alleged that some individuals conspired to implicate him in the case.

During the interview, the actor also challenged the circumstances surrounding footage presented in connection with the incident, claiming that he had never visited the house where he was reportedly captured on camera.

He further recalled the allegation that he had used a key to sexually assault a seven-year-old girl. According to him, he strongly denied the accusation while in prison and made an emotional statement referencing his own daughter.

Baba Ijesha also claimed that someone had warned him about the incident before it happened, although he said he only remembered the person’s name afterwards.

His latest comments have renewed public attention on the case, which attracted widespread reactions and controversy within the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The actor’s statements represent his personal account and denial of the allegations. They do not, on their own, overturn the legal outcome of the case.
