The Federal Government has set up the establishment of a tripartite committee tasked with simplifying visa procedures and acquisition for potential investors interested in Nigeria, as revealed by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Tuesday, presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Idris highlighted the current challenges in the visa processes, stressing that the ease of doing business is intricately linked to visa procedures. He announced plans to expedite visa acquisition for investors and tourists, promising a turnaround time of 48 hours.

The FEC meeting, convened at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, commenced on Monday, May 13, extending into Tuesday for deliberations. Idris communicated the extension on Monday, indicating the continuation of discussions to address critical issues.

The Minister clarified that significant decisions were being deliberated upon, with outcomes slated for disclosure post-meeting. He announced the continuation of the FEC session for Tuesday at 12 pm.
