Fatal stabbing In Lagos: Man Allegedly Kills Friend Over N2500 Debt....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Tragedy unfolded in the Oko Oba area of Lagos State when Taiwo Badejo allegedly took the life of his friend, known simply as Monday, in a dispute over a N2,500 debt on Friday, May 17.

According to reports, Badejo and Monday engaged in a heated argument regarding the owed money, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

Tope Ajise, a resident of Egbatedo Street where the incident occurred, recounted that despite attempts by onlookers to intervene, the situation worsened.

“It started as mere verbal exchanges the night before Friday until the morning when we learned that Taiwo had fatally stabbed Monday over N2,500,” Ajise stated. “He borrowed the money from Monday, who came to collect his debt. Taiwo reacted by resorting to violence, resulting in Monday’s tragic demise.”

Another resident, Taofeek, described the accused as someone without a steady source of income, often idling around the neighborhood.

“They roam around, seeking to extort money from people, and that’s about it,” Taofeek remarked. “This area has its share of individuals like him, lacking stable employment. Instances like this can often be traced back to unemployment. An idle mind, as they say, is the devil’s workshop.”

Reports indicate that Taiwo was promptly apprehended by members of the Oodua People’s Congress, a Yoruba vigilante group.

NLC Declares Nationwide Strike

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, stating that Taiwo Badejo had been arrested and that investigations were ongoing.

“The suspect, Taiwo Badejo, is now in custody,” Hundeyin affirmed. “The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Panti.”
