Delta State Police Command operatives have apprehended a 52-year-old suspected cultist, Chief Oviri Onorigho, in Ethiope Local Government Area.

The arrest led to the recovery of a Baretta pistol loaded with four rounds of live ammunition. According to SP Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesperson, Onorigho works as an accountant at Delta State Polytechnic Oghara and is suspected to be affiliated with the Aiye confraternity.
The arrest was made on May 25, 2024, by the Commissioner of Police special team deployed to Ughelli, led by ASP Julius Robinson, acting on intelligence. Upon executing a search warrant at Onorigho’s residence in Oghara town, the firearm was discovered, leading to his immediate arrest.
