The Gombe State Government has announced that it has filed charges against a man accused of amputating both hands of his 12-year-old nephew, Adamu, over alleged phone theft.

The incident took place in Sambi Daji village, Tumu District, within the Akko Local Government Area of the state.

Abubakar Jungudo, the Director of Public Prosecutions at the Gombe State Ministry of Justice, disclosed this information during an interview with The Punch on Monday, May 27, 2024.

“We are going to prosecute the defendant. We are awaiting the assignment of the case by the Chief Judge of Gombe State.
