According to the source, a letter, signed by the committee chairman and the chairman of the NSIWC, has been dispatched to Labour, scheduling the meeting for Friday. The source expressed willingness to accept a better offer should one be presented during the meeting.

This development follows the adjournment of the minimum wage committee on Tuesday, after talks between the Federal Government and organized Labour hit a deadlock. Labour had rejected the Federal Government’s fresh proposal of N60,000, which was an increase from the earlier offer of N57,000. In response, Labour revised its demand by reducing it to N494,000 from the initial N497,000.
