Sam Jugo, the National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association, confirmed the tragic event in a statement addressing local residents. “In a heinous act, criminal invaders attacked Ari Songo (Songo’s House), Kimakpa, Kwall District, resulting in the deaths of Pastor Dauda Dalyop, Mrs. Chummy Dauda, Mr. Chwe Ajuhs, Mr. Joshua Kusa, and Mrs. Rikwe Doro,” the statement lamented.

Amid the grief, two others sustained severe injuries and are receiving treatment at home. Security forces swiftly responded to prevent further escalation, though tensions remain palpable in the Kwall district.

Following the burial of the victims, Jugo appealed for calm and urged restraint from retaliatory actions. He emphasized the importance of allowing security agencies to conduct thorough investigations to apprehend the perpetrators and restore peace to the area.

This recent incident adds to a series of violent attacks in Plateau State, underscoring ongoing security challenges in the region. Just months ago, similar attacks in Bokkos and Mangu LGAs resulted in multiple fatalities and widespread property damage.
