Adejobi confirmed the suspects’ arrest, highlighting their roles in collecting candidates’ personal information and altering admission details. The investigation also uncovered involvement of other accomplices, including individuals from JAMB-affiliated Computer Based Test (CBT) Centers in Calabar. Digital forensic analysis led to the discovery of multiple fake domains and associated websites operated by the syndicate, primarily based in Imọ State.

The spokesperson emphasized that these actions violate sections 8, 13, and 27 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015 as amended. He warned against criminal activities undermining JAMB’s integrity and similar illegal partnerships. The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the Police Force’s Cybercrime Center for their efforts and reiterated their commitment to using technology to safeguard Nigerian citizens in both physical and digital realms.
