The university’s management, through its Public Relations Officer, Mr. Elom Iyke Ubochi, corroborated that Okeke, an extra-year student in the Department of Accountancy, was abducted on June 1, 2024, and tragically found deceased 16 days later.

“The security agencies have apprehended some of those suspected to be involved in the abduction and made efforts to secure his safe return,” Ubochi expressed in a statement. “Regrettably, on Monday, June 17, Okeke’s decomposed body was discovered beneath the bridge at Ako stream in Nwakpu village, along Ikwo/Abakaliki Road.”
