In a press release issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, it was announced that the appointment will be effective from October 17, 2023.
Dan-Azumi is succeeding Mr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart, the former Acting Chief of Staff to the Speaker, who has accepted another appointment.
Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart assumed the role of Acting Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives following the completion of his tenure as the Chief of Staff to former Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila during the 9th Assembly.
Prior to his appointment, Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi served as the Technical Assistant to the Director-General at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) within the National Assembly.
Prof. Dan-Azumi is a distinguished professor in Political Science and Development Studies, with a wealth of experience in various aspects of development work. His areas of expertise include democratic governance and public policy, strengthening parliamentary institutions, research, peace and security, human rights, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and gender-related issues.
