Abia State Bans All Movement For Humans And Vehicles During Saturday’s LG Polls
In preparation for the upcoming local government elections on Saturday, the Abia State Government has announced restrictions on the movement of people and vehicles. The directive was communicated by Okey Kanu, the Commissioner for Information, on Thursday. He stated, “Only individuals engaged in essential services will be permitted to move, provided they present valid identification cards.”

The state government has urged all residents, including those in markets, motor parks, and other business centers, to comply with the restriction order. The government warned that violators would face consequences, as security personnel are fully prepared to enforce the order.
