The Governor stated that this recent development influenced his administration’s decision to change the market’s schedule from weekly to daily to enhance safety.

Conversely, leaders of the northern community within the market contested the claim of finding corpses, asserting that the Governor’s actions were merely a tactic to expel them from the market.

In response to these allegations, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kazie Uko, stated in an interview with PUNCH that detailed information regarding the recovered bodies is in the possession of security authorities.

He emphasized that the security personnel are the ones who can pinpoint the exact location of the bodies.

Uko explained, “Governor Otti’s statement was based on the report provided by the security personnel. The location of the corpses is known to the security authorities.

They did not package them and bring them to the Governor; they conducted their operations and reported their findings to the Governor. This is a security matter.”
