The exact cause of their deaths has not yet been confirmed. However, a local source suggested that they might have succumbed to generator fumes, while others speculated a possible ‘spiritual attack.’

The victims included three children, their mother, the mother’s sister, and the sister’s brother-in-law. The father, who was away from home at the time, is the sole survivor of the family.

The deceased, originally from another local government area in Abia, had been residing in Obehie. The identities of the victims have not been released. Abia State Police Command spokesperson ASP Maureen Chinaka confirmed that the incident has been reported, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
