FCT Police Commissioner, Ajao Adewale, emphasized the importance of following traffic laws, highlighting that it is a crucial civic responsibility that contributes to national development. In a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, Adewale appealed for public cooperation to support the Police in maintaining peace, order, and safety.

He stressed the need for strict adherence to parking regulations and road signs to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, especially in high-traffic areas, and to reduce congestion.

Adewale also urged residents to avoid street trading and roadside selling, as such activities obstruct traffic, pose risks to lives, and exacerbate accidents and congestion.

“The police are not adversaries but partners in progress,” he remarked. “Respecting officers, following traffic laws, and avoiding illegal roadside activities are key to creating a safer and more organized FCT.”

He also issued a stern warning that any individual found assaulting or obstructing officers, particularly those working to ensure traffic and public safety, would face legal consequences. He reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the FCT.
