At the campaign’s unveiling, Njideka Esomeju, Group Head of Consumer Banking, emphasized the bank’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainability. “In line with our dedication to promoting cleaner energy, this initiative aims to make solar power more accessible through flexible financing solutions,” she said.
The campaign will work with accredited vendors across the country to offer solar products at competitive rates. Esomeju highlighted that the initiative aims to reduce energy costs and enhance energy reliability for households, businesses, and industrial facilities.
Bolarinwa Animashaun, Regional Sales Director at Access Bank, noted that the campaign was developed in response to customer feedback, addressing the high cost of electricity tariffs and providing an alternative power source.
The campaign aligns with the United Nations’ Economic, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals. Solar products can be financed over a period of up to 48 months, allowing customers to manage payments more easily.
Abiodun Olubitan, Group Head of the W Initiative, emphasized the bank’s focus on supporting women and women-led businesses. “We are offering discounted interest rates for women, helping them to scale their businesses and contribute to a cleaner environment,” she said.
Thelma Luke-Nwoye, Head of Consumer Lending, highlighted the campaign’s goal of raising awareness and educating communities about the benefits of solar energy. The campaign provides financing for solar panels, inverters, batteries, and installation, with flexible repayment options ranging from 12 to 48 months.
Under the ‘Switch to Solar by Access’ campaign, businesses can access up to N50 million, and individuals up to N10 million for solar installations, with competitive interest rates and as low as 10 percent equity contribution.
