In reply, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou, labeled Binani’s claims as unfounded and the petition as “dead on arrival.”
He dismissed the allegations as tactics employed by unsuccessful politicians desperate for power. Furthermore, he pointed to previous court rulings invalidating the APC primary election due to overvoting and cash-for-votes practices.
Wonosikou also stated that Binani had been supporting the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari, who was allegedly involved in manipulating vote totals.
The Governor’s camp demanded that Binani apologize for her role in what they described as a “failed civilian coup” and urged her to focus on refuting fraudulent claims made by the suspended REC instead.
They emphasized that the 2023 election in Adamawa State was peaceful and that accusations against Governor Fintiri and INEC were baseless and intended to tarnish their reputations.
