This decision by regional leaders has ignited discussions and heightened tension, particularly as Burkina Faso and Mali aligned with Niger’s junta, vowing to resist any foreign intervention.

The United States has supported ECOWAS’ stance, urging further pressure on the Niger junta to release President Mohamed Bazoum, who has been confined to his residence since the military coup on July 26.

In a recent Twitter post, Adamu Garba expressed his view that the intervention of France and America has become an unnecessary distraction. He affirmed Nigerians’ trust in President Tinubu’s ability to make prudent decisions, given his competence.

Garba emphasized that if France and America are genuinely concerned about democracy in Niger, they should proceed with their proposed military interventions.

Garba’s message to France and America concluded by asserting Nigeria’s preference for an undisturbed leadership under President Tinubu’s stewardship.
