Addressing the accusations, Governor Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, emphasized the President’s commendation for his efforts in addressing the challenges inherited in Osun. He highlighted President Tinubu’s disapproval of public asset looting and reiterated their shared commitment to due process.

Governor Adeleke shared insights into his interactions with President Tinubu, affirming the President’s acknowledgment of the strides made in Osun’s governance. He expressed disappointment at the Osun APC’s divergence from the President’s governance style and highlighted the establishment of an Asset Recovery Committee at the beginning of his administration.

Adeleke stressed that the current actions were based on the committee’s recommendations and the necessity of adhering to the demands of the state’s residents. The Governor underscored his dedication to non-partisan governance and disclosed his refraining from dragging political adversaries to anti-graft agencies, even when grounds existed.

While urging the previous administration’s appointees to return government properties in their possession, Governor Adeleke issued a stern warning that his administration would vigorously pursue the recovery of all looted government assets, leaving no stone unturned.
