The commitment of the Federal Government to provide comprehensive rehabilitation for the four girls rescued from the Al-Kadriyar family after enduring two weeks in the kidnappers’ den was emphasized by Mrs. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs. Mrs. Kennedy-Ohanenye advocated for the girls to be moved from their current school to a safer environment. Additionally, she proposed that one of them should undergo her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme at the ministry. Expressing gratitude for the collaboration of the army, police, and other security agencies in the girls’ release, she voiced concern over the rising cases of kidnapping.

She revealed that President Bola Tinubu is deeply troubled by the increasing trend of kidnapping and is actively working to address the situation. After her visit, Mrs. Kennedy-Ohanenye pledged to update the President and the First Lady on the condition of the rescued girls, emphasizing the government’s dedication to addressing the challenges posed by kidnapping incidents.
