Nwabali’s heroic performance, which included saving two penalties against South Africa in Wednesday’s semi-final, secured Nigeria’s spot in the final showdown.
Jose Peseiro’s squad is now set to face Ivory Coast, the tournament hosts, in the ultimate match on Sunday.
In a statement released today, Chippa United affirmed their support for Nwabali, praising his exceptional achievement and expressing pride in his representation of the club.
“Our unwavering support for you remains firm,” the statement read. “You have exemplified the values of Chippa United magnificently, and we are exceptionally proud of you. We will be cheering you on in the Finals this Sunday against the host country, Côte d’Ivoire.”
Despite facing criticism for their decision to back Nigeria over South Africa in the semi-finals, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) side remains resolute in its support for Nwabali and the Super Eagles.
