Additionally, the Senate has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. This resolution was initiated by Senator Sumaila Kawu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, who raised a point of order under Order 42 of the Senate Standing Rules.
Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, who presided over the session, described the treatment of the Super Eagles as unacceptable and inconsistent with the spirit of sports. He stressed that sports should foster unity, competition, and camaraderie among nations.
Jibrin stated, “What happened to the Super Eagles in Libya contradicts the essence of sports, which is to promote brotherhood among African countries.
