He made the comment while responding to a similar concern raised by media personality N6 on social media.
N6 had earlier expressed concern on (formerly Twitter), warning that AI’s expanding capabilities in music creation and mastering could threaten the future of the industry.
Supporting the concern, DJ Neptune shared an experience in which he initially believed an AI-generated track was produced by a human.
He explained that after listening to a song sent to him for review, he was impressed enough to recommend the artist for a record deal, only to later learn that the track was created using AI, which surprised him.
He noted that this experience highlighted how advanced AI has become in producing music that can closely mimic human creativity.
AI is increasingly being adopted across various sectors, including music, where artists, producers, and sound engineers are using it to enhance beats, vocals, and overall production quality.
However, its growing influence has sparked ongoing debates about its impact on creativity and job security within the industry.
In response to these developments, the Recording Academy has adjusted its guidelines to allow songs that incorporate AI elements to be eligible for awards, as long as they include substantial human contribution.
