Aide Blames Zazzaga For Attempting To Instigate Division In APC Through Attacks On Ganduje

This statement follows comments by APC chieftain Saleh Zazzaga, who claimed he had rejected the endorsement of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje by Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule. Okpala criticized Zazzaga’s remarks, calling them reckless and accusing him of spreading falsehoods.

In a statement, Okpala argued that Zazzaga’s attacks on Governor Sule and Ganduje are unfounded and advised Zazzaga to adhere to party protocols for resolving issues rather than airing grievances publicly. He asserted that Zazzaga’s approach—resorting to the courts instead of internal party channels—demonstrates disloyalty and an attempt to discredit the party.

Okpala emphasized that political parties have established mechanisms for handling disputes and that bypassing these processes to engage in public criticism undermines the party’s unity. He also pointed out that Zazzaga’s ongoing attacks on Ganduje and even the President do not reflect well on his commitment to the party.

Recalling the endorsement of Ganduje by the APC North Central Governors Forum, Okpala stressed that governors hold significant authority within the party and their support for Ganduje outweighs Zazzaga’s objections. He concluded by accusing Zazzaga of being an agent of the opposition, aiming to disrupt and sow discord within the APC, but predicted that such efforts would ultimately fail.
