Aisha Yesufu Condemns Kano Government’s Ban On Cross-Dressing Films....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Renowned Nigerian activist Aisha Yesufu has strongly criticized the Kano State Government’s decision to prohibit the screening of movies promoting cross-dressing within the state. The move, which also includes a warning against films depicting thuggery, comes in response to public concerns regarding the influence of certain movies on the behavior of youths.
The announcement of the ban was made by Abba El-Mustapha, the Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board, during a press briefing following a meeting with stakeholders from the Kannywood industry. Aisha Yesufu, in her response, pointed out the long-standing presence of cross-dressing in Kano, even predating the emergence of popular figures like Bobrisky.
“Cross-dressing was prevalent in Kano long before Bobrisky came into the picture,” she remarked on social media platform X. “There are original cross-dressers in Kano who don’t rely on surgery for transformation. Let’s not succumb to hypocrisy and treat it as a novelty.
