Ajaka accused Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, of targeting him because he understands that his own candidate lacks popularity in the state.
The SDP Governorship candidate stated, “I am the most well-known candidate in the state. With God’s grace, the people are on my side.
By November 11, I will emerge victorious in the election. This is why Governor Yahaya Bello is singling me out. He recognizes that his candidate lacks popularity. His candidate is part of the problem.”
Ajaka went on to accuse Governor Bello of imposing a former Auditor General of Local Government in the state, Ahmed Ododo, as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), based on an undisclosed agreement.
Although Ajaka didn’t reveal the specifics of the agreement, he asserted that civil servants and citizens of Kogi State are opposed to the APC candidate. He also suggested that Governor Bello’s motivation for promoting Ododo is linked to his presidential aspirations for 2027.
Regarding his educational qualifications for the state’s top position, Ajaka affirmed that he meets the necessary requirements, holding at least a Senior School Certificate in accordance with the Constitution, and he possesses a degree as well. He stated, “I have more than just a school certificate. I hold a degree in Public Administration. However, the constitution specifies ‘the minimum requirement.'”
