On August 29, the President endorsed Chiedu Ebie for the position of NDDC board chairman, along with 16 other individuals nominated for the commission’s board.
The letter stated that President Tinubu’s endorsement was in accordance with the provisions of section 2(2) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (Establishment etc.) Act.
President Tinubu urged the House to swiftly consider the nominees and provided the following statement in the letter: “In compliance with the provisions of section 2(2) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (Establishment etc.) Act, I am pleased to present the under-listed seventeen nominees for the consideration of the House of Representatives for the positions of Chairman and members of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.”
The list of names to be confirmed includes Mr. Chiedu Ebie as Chairman from Delta State, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer from Bayelsa, Mr.
Boma lyaye as the Executive Director of Finance and Administration from Rivers, Mr. Victor Antai as Executive Director of Projects from Akwa-Ibom, and Otito Atikase as Executive Director of Corporate Services from Ondo.
Additional nominees on the list encompass Dimaro Denyanbofa, State Representative from Bayelsa, Mr. Abasi Nkono, State Representative from Akwa-Ibom, Monday Igbuya, State Representative from Delta, Tony Okocha, State Representative from Rivers, and Patrick Aisowieren, State Representative from Edo.
