Ajuri Ngelale: The True Story Behind Tinubu’s Spokesperson’s Resignation....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reports have surfaced suggesting that Ajuri Ngelale has resigned from his role as spokesperson for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu due to concerns over his job performance, with some alleging he stepped down to avoid being sacked.

According to the Daily Post, Ngelale announced on Saturday that he would be taking a leave of absence due to personal and medical reasons. The Presidency later confirmed and accepted his decision to step down.

However, Premium Times, citing sources within the government, reported on Sunday that Ngelale’s departure was linked to his failure to meet the expectations of the role. The sources claim that members of Tinubu’s cabinet felt Ngelale lacked the necessary “experience, contacts, and networks” to effectively handle the position.

“It was a misstep for the President to appoint such a junior journalist to a role of this magnitude. His underperformance is not surprising,” one source told Premium Times.

Similarly, the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) in Nigeria reported that contrary to Ngelale’s stated reasons, he was actually dismissed by the Presidency.

This development follows criticism from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) last year, which questioned Ngelale’s suitability for the spokesperson role. Ngelale was initially appointed in August 2023 to serve as President Tinubu’s spokesperson.
