Describing Akeredolu’s passing as a significant loss due to his substantial contributions, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the burial would be a tribute to a patriot who remained true to life and humanity. He assured that Akeredolu would receive a well-deserved state burial, with further details to be communicated to the late governor’s family.

Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the high regard in which the government holds Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, the founder of Elizade University. He expressed pride in the institution’s achievements and pledged to address the Vice Chancellor’s request for solar-powered lighting on the campus.

The late Governor Akeredolu passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 67. Governors from the Southwestern states, united under the South West Governors’ Forum, committed to collaborating with Akeredolu’s family to ensure a dignified burial.

In a related development, Prof. Ijadunola, the new Vice-Chancellor of Elizade University, emphasized the need for a robust partnership between the Ondo State government and the university. He highlighted Chief Michael Ade-Ojo’s substantial investments in the institution as a deliberate commitment to the development of Ondo State and Ilara-Mokin. Despite being a private venture, Ijadunola asserted that Elizade University would endure, continuing to benefit the state and impacting posterity and humanity positively.
