Akpabio made the remark while speaking at the inauguration of a project in Abuja.
Recalling their years in the National Assembly, the Senate President noted that Aduda represented the FCT for several years and served as a principal officer of the Senate. However, he said he could not remember attending any project commissioning event in the territory during that period.
In a light-hearted exchange, Akpabio jokingly blamed the former lawmaker for never inviting him to commission any project while they both served in the Senate.
According to him, the situation appears to have changed significantly, with the Federal Capital Territory now witnessing the completion and commissioning of several infrastructure projects.
He said:
“Senator Aduda, you and I were together in the 8th Senate. How come we never attended one single commissioning or project in the FCT? You know, I have to blame you. You were part of that government. You were even a principal officer in the Senate. You never invited me to follow you to commission one single project.”
The comment drew laughter from attendees, as Akpabio used the occasion to highlight what he described as increased infrastructure development and project delivery in the FCT.
