During the Special Christmas Day ceremony held at the United Evangelical Church (UEC), Awa Iman in Onna Local Government Area, Governor Eno dismissed any notion of political discord between him and Emmanuel, emphasizing that Emmanuel played a pivotal role in his seamless transition to the governorship.

Eno conveyed his gratitude, stating, “My predecessor has never exerted pressure on me since leaving office in May. On the contrary, we are the ones pursuing him, urging him to offer his invaluable advice whenever possible.”

He continued by acknowledging the enduring influence of Emmanuel, saying, “I tell people that even when you are not in government, you are still working for this state. In eight years, you (Udom Emmanuel) taught us leadership, and you developed all of us. We have learned from you, especially the lesson of tolerance.”

Governor Eno further expressed his respect and admiration for Emmanuel, asserting, “You may no longer be governor today, but you will always be my governor and leader. You have a clear understanding of how these things work, and I will always be your student.”

The governor’s remarks underscore the harmonious relationship between the present and former leaders, emphasizing the importance of continuity, mentorship, and the shared commitment to the betterment of Akwa Ibom State.
