In a statement released by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Saturday, Obasanjo expressed his recognition of the late educationist’s significant contributions to the overall development of Nigeria.
“Iyalode Lawson led a purposeful life, and she made significant achievements. I knew she had been experiencing health issues, but I was not privy to the exact cause,” he remarked.
Obasanjo emphasized that Lawson was an exceptional individual and a determined personality, highlighting her strong work ethic and remarkable generosity.
The former president also recalled bestowing upon Lawson the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) national award in recognition of her contributions to the nation’s economic advancement and community development.
